The music at Florence Congregational Church is a central part of worship. A variety of music is sung during worship both by the Senior Choir and the congregation. Hymns and anthems for each Sunday seek to reflect the Pastor’s message and bring all participants closer to feeling the spirit in worship. The church has a beautiful 3 manual Austin Pipe Organ built in 1948. Here are also lovely handbells and hand chimes that are used for Christmas, Easter, and special services.
Kathy has been a church pianist, organist and choir director for over 18 years. She holds a BA in Piano from the University of Pittsburgh, an MS Ed from SUNY Brockport University and has done graduate piano studies at Carnegie Mellon University.
She currently teaches piano and accompanies the choirs at the Williston Northampton School and teaches Music/Chorus at Academy Hill School in Springfield.

God Through Music
Both Kathy and Rev. Averill believe that music is key to understand our relationship with God.
Through music we may praise him.
Through music we can hear echoes of the divine choirs.
Through music we can express ourselves when human words fail us.
